Name: Izzy
Age: 19
Sexuality: Bisexual
Gender: Female

1. What made you want to be involved with Neon Moon?
I’m tired of being shown images of women that don’t look like me and feeling ashamed of myself because of it. Neon Moon was the first company I looked at that didn’t make me feel bad about myself and I knew immediately I wanted to be a part of it.

2. Who has influenced you most throughout your life?
My little sister has been very influential. I value her opinion above anyone else’s as she will always be brutally honest. Making her proud is one of the most satisfactory things I can do. Seeing her grow into a young teen and face all the problems that come with it has been tough, as I feel there is nothing I can really do to help. I want her to be comfortable in her own skin and see that every part of her is brilliant, and if me dancing around in my Neon Moon underwear helps her achieve that, then I’m game.

3. What has been your hardest struggle to overcome?
My depression and the utter worthlessness that it made me feel. I still haven't quite overcome it and I’m not sure I ever will. Everyday is a constant battle to remind myself that I deserve to be here and I deserve to be happy. It is exhausting, but with the right support network in place I am managing to cope.

4. When have you been the most proud of yourself?
Back in September I was carrying a Samaritans Charity bucket through Waterloo Station, in preparation for a fundraising event. A middle aged man chased me through the underground, tapped me on the shoulder and asked if he could put money in my bucket because the Samaritans had saved his life. I felt utterly proud of myself for being comfortable enough with who I am and the struggles I’ve faced to help others with similar difficulties. By admitting my weaknesses and working to overcome them, I am helping others to overcome theirs too.

5. If you could give one piece of advice to women all over the world, what would it be?
You are perfect as you are, nothing about you needs fixing.

6. What does Neon Moon's campaign #NeonMoonCelebrateYou mean to you?
It’s a real celebration for me of how far I have come and the confidence that I have regained. I’m learning everyday how to love myself and want to encourage other women to do the same.
